Minimal Pop is the term used by the designers of the Puccio Collodoro Architetti studio to define their latest project.
The “risky” term chosen by the young architects, Gianluca Puccio and Andrea Collodoro, is a perfect synthesis for what they define as “a balanced mix of geometric rigor and elegant explosion of colour“.

Girl coming down the stairs of a store

“Melania Caruso Flagship Store” is the clothing store that is the protagonist of this “new” interpretation, located inside a building from the 1970s, in what is gradually becoming a new shopping street in the historic center of Palermo.

It is a store in which the layout of the rooms, the lighting, the display system and the finishes are all designed to enhance the spaces and products, emphasized by an obsessive attention to alignments. The spaces have a purely feminine interpretation, without however allowing excesses. The apparent simplicity of the design choices is the result of a laborious and careful study of every single detail, which has made it possible to streamline and smooth the furniture elements, to obtain an essential design with a strong character.

The materials were chosen on the basis of a “minimalmoodboard that contrasts with “pop” finishes: white marble, powder pink resin and fabric, golden metal and natural parquet.

Gold colored metal support of some lamps

The predominant element in the design composition is the vertical connection system conceived as a “pink monochromatic volume” which is inserted between the two levels, enclosing the staircase and the entrance counter. A concept as simple as effective.

Display systems have been designed and developed with soft lines and golden finishes that recall the upholstery of the dressing rooms and some lighting fixtures.
The project therefore aims to enhance the essence of the brand; an all-female brand, which has found a new way of communicating the elegance and originality of its core business, with a “minimal-pop” character.
