“Eco” because the structure is provided with a photovoltaic system, “eco” because the energy used is 100% green certificated, sourced entirely from renewable sources, “eco” because the wood is the prevalent material of the project, “eco” because the flushing plates in the bathroom have two buttons, “eco” because the lighting engineering project is smart, it is like natural southern light. I’ve done my best to attract natural light in the ecob&b spaces but, when get dark the light designed inside is warm and welcoming; outside indirect light projectors create evocative scenery and do not disturb sky, stars, and especially birds.
The renovation and interior design project are for a two floors structure, the outdoor space is for a garden and swimming pool; ecob&b Dimora Manfredo Luxury, is located in the Naxos Park of San Nicola Arcella in Calabria and the project focuses on the remodeling of spaces with the design of all finishes, a new face to the building without changing its shape.
The building consists of two above-ground floors and is characterized by white-colored walls, unique coloring, and grading of the flooring for both floors creating continuity throughout the space, intentionally without creating steps for greater accessibility, the flooring reaches and continues externally with frost-proof characteristics.
Starting from the entrance, on the ground floor there is a reception hall/living room that welcome the restroom, storage room/office and the two bedrooms with double bed complete with restroom and private outdoor space; a staircase in durmast wood with a glass balustrade and a bright base with twilight system, reach the first floor, where we find two bedrooms and bathrooms.
In the bedrooms, the fabrics have color affinities with the hexagonal tiles in the bathrooms; I came to a decision with the client, a great sharing to give more personality to the rooms. The oak woodwork in the reception/living room, vertical path, bedrooms, and bathrooms were custom designed and fabricated.
The glass balustrade of the two flights of stairs and landing, shower box and mirrors were custom designed and made. A state-of-the-art, hot/cold air-conditioning system comforts the ecob&b’s customer, in the bathroom a sand-colored furniture accessory serves as a radiant panel and heats the space when needed, a sound system cheers the guests’ stay.
Outside, between the pool and the building a cut that tastes like a grout line in the pavement made to collect rainwater. Comfortable furniture accessory of modern design framing the rectangular shaped swimming pool, which is heated up to expand the receptivity; a lush hedge of Mediterranean vegetation with an irrigation system marks the edge of the intervention area, and then an olive tree right at the entrance tells of love and remembrance.
The design defined thinking about the customer’s that will live the ecob&b has been my effort, trying to make them “breath” the colors, smells and the comfort at home, in a space with a sustainable design. At the end I want thank, the smart and curious customer and often on the construction site to understand, and also the suppliers and the workers all, for contributing with laborious expertise to the success of the undertaking. The construction site is the place I love, always an unexpected problem to solve and always a smile, then!
