Anidride Design, the studio of architects Nicola De Pellegrini and Giovanni Bez, designed the new headquarters of the Belluno brand Blackfin creating a workspace connected with nature and tailored for people. The project obtained the “CasaClima Work & Life” sustainability certification, recognized for those working environments capable of ensuring high levels of comfort for their employees.
True mastery in architecture is achieved only when the designed building is able to generate tangible well-being for the people who occupy it, immersing them in a quiet and soothing atmosphere, always pleasant. If the building is then able to perfectly integrate with the surrounding environment, merging imperceptibly with the natural elements that surround it, the mastery will take on clearly visible forms, leaving indelible traces in every observer.
Anidride Design’s mission is precisely this, to design well-being. And the more concrete results of this approach are perfectly evident in the new headquarters of Blackfin, a Venetian brand specialized in the production of titanium eyewear, of which the studio led by Nicola de Pellegrini and Giovanni Bez oversaw the design of the entire building, including the interiors.
An ultra-modern building that catches the eye in a moment
The building, located in Taibon Agordino, in the province of Belluno, immediately catches the eye for the slender and ultra-modern shapes of the external parts, with a quilted covering of small holes that seem to deliberately hide the internal structure, leaving full power to the observer and his/her imagination. The facade, made of aluminium, is completely recyclable. Anidride Design has in fact modeled the building around the principles of sustainability, creating a new headquarters capable of clearly communicating the philosophy of the brand, deeply linked to respect for the environment, and perfectly harmonizing the artificial structures with the natural beauty of the surrounding mountain panorama. It is the clearest demonstration that Anidride Design, in its projects, always remains faithful to the principles of circular design, giving life to buildings capable of respecting the environment and at the same time guaranteeing high levels of well-being for the people who occupy it. The shape of the mountains in the building is clearly distinguishable in the shape of the roof, with its slopes arranged in various levels of inclination, but also in the imposing verticality of the structure and in the segmented profile of the top, which immediately refers to the image of the Dolomites.
“Architecture and sustainability, from our point of view, can join forces to redesign the image of brands, communicating their philosophy much more clearly – says Nicola De Pellegrini, architect and founder of Anidride Design; – Blackfin is a company that shares our same principles of sustainability, so it was a real pleasure to work with them. The task of architecture, in this delicate situation, is to propose a broader global vision, which leads to the design of buildings that consume less and generate a lower environmental impact. It is also needed to pay more attention to the performance of the buildings, without ever neglecting the aesthetic aspect of the final result. The one related to Blackfin is not simply an architectural project: it is a much broader design that also includes precise visual communication actions, aimed at increasingly refining the image of the brand “.
The natural harmony of the interiors
The connection with the mountains, and with the external environment, is also perfectly evident in the interiors of the building, designed in order to create a harmonious dialogue between the modernity of the offices and the surrounding landscape. Inside the rooms, there are wooden and stone elements, and a vertical garden on the walls seems to delicately evoke all the majesty of nature. The wood used, however, comes from Venetian producers, and is zero kilometer. The ceiling is also characterized by a perforated surface that recalls the sharp shapes of the Dolomites. But the Blackfin headquarters was also designed to increase people’s happiness, with welcoming rooms full of positive energy, as if they were real domestic environments. The intent, in this case, was to significantly improve the working environment, giving a new meaning to the relationship that is established between people and the spaces in which they work. A room of silence was also created in the building, a room entirely covered in wood in which electronic devices cannot be introduced. This room was not designed simply for the serenity of the employees, but also to offer them the opportunity to spend a few moments of peace without the hassle of electronic devices, indulging only in their own thoughts. The Anidride Design project, also for these reasons, fully respects the criteria of the CasaClima Work & Life certification, in particular with regard to sustainability, comfort and well-being of employees in the workplace.
In the project linked to Blackfin, the forces of architecture, sustainability and communication have forged a new face for the brand, giving it a new boost and projecting it directly towards its next challenges. And in the final result, perfectly embodied in the new Taibon Agordino headquarters, the vision of Anidride Design appears distinctly visible even to the naked eye, with the appearance of an avant-garde building intimately connected with nature.
