Student's Home

Feeling at home away from home in a sensitive housing market

Before and after

Student's Home

The apartment, as can be seen from the original plant, had a long and narrow bathroom, a kitchen on the right, a living room and a bedroom on the left. Everything was very old, and anything couldn’t be saved: floors, fixtures, bathroom fixtures, all has been completely dismantled to give the apartment a new look.

The project we studied involved a substantial redistribution of spaces: we moved and resized the bathroom, relocating it in the center between the kitchen and the old living room which has now become a bedroom. In this way, we also managed to create an anteroom and a hallway leading to the bedroom. This is possible because, unlike what can be seen from the plant, the wall wasn’t load-bearing, but rather a partition that we were able to knock down.

Today the apartment has a kitchen, a bathroom and a total of two bedroom: one is very large with a balcony and the other with a window. Such as in all the Students’ Home apartments, we have renovated the property from A to Z: from floors to systems, from fixtures to doors, from tiles to bathroom fixtures, up to the decoration of the walls.

Also the bathroom has also been completely redone, with the replacement of the bathroom fixtures and the creation of a large shower box with hydromassage jets.

We opted for materials and colors to use in all our apartments: a choice that aims to convey the strength and the prestige of the Students’ Home brand, thanks to a defined and recognizable image in all the apartments.

The furniture

Even the choice of furniture is not accidental: we always use the same suppliers, who punctually create quality furnishings. It is essential to respect the delivery times of the apartment which often coincide with the start of university courses, a deadline beyond which you could lost the rental coverage for an entire school year.

We always choose a predominance of light colors for the rooms, with furnishing accessories of the same chosen color for the type of room. In this case, the two rooms of the apartments are of the PRESTIGE typology, which is characterized by the green color, as well as by the availability of furniture and comfort: French bed, desk, comfort chair, mirror, 40” TV, bookcase, bedside table, dresser and 2-door wardrobe.

The common areas are also furnished and equipped with every appliance, specifically: washing machine, fridge, oven and microwave. In the kitchen the students also find all the dishes and pots. Everything designed for a complete result, for a house ready to be inhabited.

Making available on the market

Once the works were finished, we were able to rent both rooms still empty, without furniture. It was enough to post an online ad with some sample photos (one of the advantage of standardizing all apartments in all cities): the first room was rented a couple of hours after it was advertised by a student who came with his family to Turin specifically to find a room. Seeing the renovation, the proximity to the university and the guarantee of all the other comfort was enough to stop the room immediately. One of the decisive elements for the parents was the all-inclusive formula: electricity, gas, condominium fee, wi-fi and appliances without any agency costs.
