Area verde a Casteldebole

Hundreds of plants and trees planted, destined to be the new green lung of Casteldebole, in Bologna.

It is the new sustainability investment made by a historic private structure, Villa Ranuzzi, Casa Residenza Anziani for the benefit of the whole neighborhood. More than 300 trees – still small – have been planted near the residence, in line with the Green Plan of the Emilia-Romagna Region shared with the Municipality of Bologna, in order to increase green areas, improve the microclimate and contribute to de-pollution global.

An intervention for over 200 thousand euros that responds to the claim “Let’s put roots for the future” and to the project wanted by President Stefano Bonaccini, which foresees the planting of 4.5 million new trees from now and in the next few years.

In the area where Villa Ranuzzi stands, exactly in a land of about one and a half hectares, the essences have been planted – oak, lime, ash, hornbeam, lime, hazel, dogwood, cercis – which have the ability to absorb CO2, as well as be scented, so as to make it pleasant to walk through the avenue and flower beds.

Another important and recent investment concerns the reconstruction of the former road, located next to the Ranuzzina, up to some time ago in rammed earth and impassable, today resurfaced, as cycle and pedestrian path.

The arrangement of the road was a work financed by the Villa Bellombra Hospital with the addition of lighting and fencing to increase safety levels for pedestrians.

Leveling operations were carried out with the use of draining asphalt in order not to waterproof the surrounding land.

The ambitious projects in Casteldebole reach their highest point with the construction – in progress – of the new Villa Bellombra, a highly technological hospital complex specializing in neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation, today an active construction site. Delivery will take place by 2022.

An investment transformed into an architectural work by Eng. Ferrari S.p.A. to ensure healthcare in step with the times and health needs. The Urban and Architectural Project is by GBA Studio – Gianluca Brini Architect, while the construction management is entrusted to Eng. Giovanni Righi.

Casteldebole, thanks to the continuous investment of private entrepreneurs, is being transformed into the innovative center of health and sustainability with a compartment between Villa Ranuzzi and the new Villa Bellombra of about 350 beds, all between hotel comfort, reforestation and cutting-edge technologies for rehabilitation.
