Render of the barber shop Henna

In this architectural project the concept of barber’s cutting brings and gives inspiration to the geometric lines of the room, through the well-designed management of the spaces and with a design furniture that complies with the theme.

We are in an age where the image is above all else, in all sectors. Today we rely more and more on specialized technicians to give their work a clear and incisive image in order to facilitate recognition with respect to other competitors. Even in the barber sector, this need is growing more and more, which goes hand in hand with new technologies in terms of brand sponsorships and enhancements. The growth of these new values also travels on the basis of a new way of seeing, feeling and touching a store, intriguing the user to discover, to feel, to perceive the place where one is.

PRELIMINARY STUDY

The customization of the room has been studied based on two factors:

  • The graphic study of the logo;
  • The search for the geometry of the “cut”, which conceptually recalls the action of the scissors.

The concept of “cutting” is transported in a design key in all its points, from the design of the deck and walls to lighting, from the floor to the furnishings. The cuts not only give value to every corner but they also manage to bring out the volumes, even through the combination of different materials. Even the lighting follows the same concept, not only in shards of light but also in accessories. The colours are neutral and relaxing, the walls and the floor in wood and stone are the backdrop to the delicate colors of the room. The interior style is contemporary with a very successful mix of Scandinavian design elements, vintage workstations and that extra touch of industrial that makes the room unique. A warm, welcoming restaurant is born with strong and dynamic lines, transporting the client into a pleasant emotional experience.

THE PROJECT

The main need of the clients was to obtain a large space with the different functional distinct areas but open one on the other. So the room was divided into 3 sections, each dedicated to a specific function: the entrance area, the workstations and the local services behind. The first part, used as a waiting room, is highlighted by a band that stands out on both sides, on one side the waiting room, on the other the bar corner. The waiting area is composed of small armchairs and a lovely bio-fireplace framed by the plasterboard counter-wall. On the opposite side, a bench always made of plasterboard and niches behind, give life to a pleasant and welcoming corner bar, not only functional but highly communicative in terms of hospitality and warmth, pampering the customer starting from the moment he enters.

The second section is dedicated to workstations where they are highlighted by bands with different heights and colours in order to trace the game of cuts. All accompanied by a wise study of lighting that allows it to be not only a highly decorative element but also a functional one. The luminous cuts accompany and stand out the bands, while a pendant for each workstation, with a decisive design, allows excellent lighting on each chair. Moreover the spotlights stand out the modules with tubs and mirrors placed on the walls. Finally, the furniture has been wrapped and highlighted by the same bands that link them together, creating a link between different structures and materials.

The last area is used as a small tanning room, study and service bathroom.

To note is the play on the floor where the combination of wood effect with the stone effect recalls the industrial design giving a touch of warmth to the environment. This creates a visual corridor that also transports the clients emotionally throughout the room, making them perceive the space in front of them. Certainly we cannot miss details that recall the industrial style that give a touch of warmth to the environment.

THE COLOURS

The colours available are primarily greys. However, in order to give a warmer environment it was decided to combine these greys with shades of dove-grey. This combination serves to alleviate the cold nature of grey, but playing on contrasts is also useful for highlighting the tone. The greys and light greys also help harmonize the stone cladding and the floor. The colours highlight the play of volumes and cuts both on the ceiling and on the walls, creating a safe and dynamic environment that also binds to the corporate brand.

ACCESSORIES AND FURNISHINGS

Accessories and furnishings complete the scene giving even more character to the environment. The waiting area is made up of comfortable Scandinavian design chairs with a touch of industrial, with grey fabric and wooden chair legs, which binds perfectly to the environment. Coffee table with magazine rack and clothes hanger are perfectly connected with the design of the pendants and the clock placed on the stone covering. The armchairs are contained but with an important design, with a subtle reminder of vintage with black leather and chromed steel structure. The workstations instead perfectly match the lines of the false ceiling that stand out the forms and highlights its functions, from the sink to the mirror. Finally, the shampoo basin, standing out from the floorboard, are covered in black leather in line with the finishes of the workstations.

LIGHTING

The lighting accompanies the strong lines of the room, cut and highlighted by the LED bars that run not only on the ceiling but also on the wall. In addition to recalling the concept of cutting, the LED bars frame the pendants with diamond design in chromed steel. A series of pendants have also been inserted on the bar corner and finally the spotlights of different sizes complete the scene, highlighting the niches behind the corner bar and the shelves on the end of the bio-fireplace.
